An album of solo guitar improvised instrumentals, recorded in one stretch, and in one take each. Except hen party, which was recorded in three one take passes.

The guitar in question is a cheap 60's semi-acoustic. This was recorded with 2 microphones in stereo plus a direct line feed through an all tube pre-amp. It was at times retuned and detuned and was played fingerstyle, with a pick, with a slide and with an e-bow.

About the guitar
‘Audition’ guitars were
sold through Woolworths

They are a classic example of early Japanese guitar making - the pick ups are microphonic and have a distinctive chuggy 60’s sound

Jon’s is strung with light gauge flat wound strings
