Chosen from hundreds of analogue 4 track recordings from the late 80's and early 90's, Bounty Hunter is a re-mastered distillation of Jon's earlier compositions.
Lack of equipment often demanded unorthodox and frequently random procedures - some of the results have been preserved here.

review
Bounty Hunter starts with moody ambient backing for Dobro and banjo that begs comparison to Bill Frisell. A looped piano piece (Siren) is a quick transition into one of the best tracks on the disc, Clock where Goddard¹s restrained guitar duets with a synth trombone creating a late night atmosphere. There are also a few textured landscapes such as The Bible Belt and She's Still Smiling that offset the more composed songs. The album's title track could easily fit into Phil Miller's latest In-Cahoots album along with The Thin Line which is the closest to straight-ahead jazz with parallel unisons for woodwind and keyboard and a good break into a Wes Montgomery like solo.
